In August 2026, AM Industries Vietnam completed fabrication of a structural steel platform for an industrial processing facility in Japan. The project comprised structural frames and platforms engineered to support heavy processing equipment under continuous operational load.
This project represents AM Industries Vietnam’s first large-scale structural steel export to the Japanese market, and the largest single build completed in-house at the company’s newly commissioned AM Steel Structure Factory in Dong Nai, Vietnam.

Scope of Work
The structural steel platform project covered three structural assemblies:

Each assembly was fabricated as a load-bearing structure designed to support the operational weight and dynamic loading of the associated processing equipment, while maintaining dimensional accuracy for on-site installation and equipment alignment.
Fabrication Standard & Technical Scope
The structural steel platform was fabricated in accordance with AS/NZS 5131 (Structural Steelwork — Fabrication and Erection) and AS 4100 (Steel Structures), applied as AM Industries Vietnam’s standard fabrication code for this project.
Fabrication scope included:
- Structural steel cutting and profiling to design drawings
- Fit-up and welding of primary and secondary structural members
- Dimensional and weld inspection at each fabrication stage
- Surface preparation prior to coating/finishing
- Final inspection and documentation prior to packing for export
Quality control was applied at each stage of fabrication — from raw material verification through to final structural inspection — under AM Industries Vietnam’s established QA/QC procedures, with full traceability and inspection documentation compiled for the client.
Manufacturing Capability — AM Steel Structure Factory
The structural steel platform was fabricated entirely in-house at the AM Steel Structure Factory in Dong Nai, Vietnam — AM Industries Vietnam’s dedicated structural steel fabrication facility, part of the company’s ~25,000 m² Dong Nai manufacturing footprint. This project stands as the largest structural steel build completed at the facility to date.
The AM Steel Structure Factory sits on a site of approximately 10,400 m², organized into dedicated functional zones for each stage of structural steel production:
- Cutting + Built-up + Fitting Zone — primary fabrication area for structural steel cutting, built-up beam assembly, and component fit-up
- Welding + Cleaning + Shotblast Zone — welding of structural assemblies followed by surface cleaning and shot blasting preparation
- Casting Area — dedicated, wall-separated area (50mm PU insulated panel wall) for metal casting processes, kept apart from structural fabrication to prevent cross-contamination
- Painting + Packing/Loading Zone — surface coating/painting, final packing, and loading for shipment, located near the truck loading dock and roller shutter doors
The facility’s production line includes:
- CNC Laser Cutting — cuts aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel up to 45mm thickness, on a cutting bed of 16m x 2.5m, with flange and web cutting capability up to 12mm for longer structural lengths
- CNC Drilling — drills combined material thickness of up to 100mm, with a maximum hole diameter of 80mm
- Iron Worker Station — punches holes up to 25mm thickness / 30mm diameter, shears plate up to 25mm, and shears bar and profile sections (round, square, angle, T-bar, I-beam) up to 6,000mm in length
- Radial Drilling — drills mild steel up to 50mm thickness, with spindle speeds from 40–1,800 RPM
- Built-Up (B-up) Beam Line — fabricates built-up beams with web depth up to 1,500mm and flange thickness up to 25mm (width up to 500mm), for beam lengths from 2,500mm to 12,000mm
- Shot Blasting — surface preparation for components up to 1,000mm in width and 1,500mm in height, prior to coating or finishing
This equipment base allowed the drum magnetic separator support frame, vertical crusher support frame, and manual sorting platform to be cut, drilled, assembled, and surface-prepared under one roof.
Delivery
Upon completion of fabrication and final inspection, the structural assemblies were packed and prepared for export shipment to Japan.
